18 month update

Below are a few interesting things that happened this month:
- pushes her "babies" (babydolls) in the stroller instead of sitting in the stroller herself
- loves Elmo now (2nd b-day party idea?? ehem...)
- says "Ouch" when something hurts
- points to the TV and says "TV"
- pats her babies on the back and says "Night night"
- knows all her body parts and can say them too!
- answers "yes" and "no" when you ask a question - doesn't always understand what you're asking though!
- picked up a new habit of throwing anything in the trash - I'm missing half my spices now!!
- puts her toys away
- starts drawing with a pen or crayon (still wants to put them in her mouth)
- learned to drink with a straw! Now she loves her milk!
- made some new friends at school. They get to do all kinds of fun things in the 1-year-old room - water play, bounce house, bubble shows, petting zoo, etc. She's really having so much fun and learning a lot.
- can say "book" and points to it when she wants it, same with "baby" for her babydoll.
- Sings along when you sing songs to her. She even started doing hand motions. "If you're happy and you know it" is her favorite song. She asks you to sing it by saying "Happy, happy, happy!" She also does the hand movements with "Wheels on the bus". Those are her two favorites!

17 month update

Below are a few interesting things that happened this month:
- Emily moved to the toddler classroom FINALLY
- says "apple" and points to it
- learned who Elmo is and says "Elmo" when she sees him
- points to her hair and belly
- says "love you" and "night, night"
- Learned what "night, night" means - she'll lay down in the crib at night when you say it.
- started waking up during the night again :(
- got her 1 year molars & canine teeth in (only 2 more teeth to go!)
- drinks her milk much better now and is becoming a much less picky eater

16 month update

Below are a few interesting things that happened this month:
- Emily started walking finally!!! She should be moving to the next classroom by 5/20. Yay!
- First long car trip to visit grandma & grandpa
- saw her first real cow
- had her first ice cream cone and french fry
- identifies her eye, teeth, and toes by pointing to them
- learned how to say "bye-bye"
- now she actually says the words nose, eye, teeth too.
- she started reaching up asking to be picked up
- she walks to the door and asks to go outside or walks to the stroller and asks to go for a walk.

15 month update

Below are a few milestones and interesting things Emily did this month:
- Pats the babies on the back and says "Night Night" when their going to sleep. Emily has become quite the big sister in her class. She's one of the oldest in her class and can't move to the next classroom until she starts walking.
- She picked up the biting, but we kicked that habit really quick!
- Started walking along the walls without holding anything
- walks with one hand, still afraid of falling though
- walks with the walker really good. She is getting super fast!
- says "flower"
- can identify her nose, ear, and hand by pointing to them
- sings "Row Row Row Your boat" and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"
- gives "kissies" on the cheek when you ask for a kissy
- puts food on a spoon in her mouth. Mommy still has to put the food on the spoon, but we're getting there!

14 month update

Below are a few milestones emily achieved this month:
- can say "nose"
- can say "Purple"
- pretends to talk on her cell phone and says "Hello"
- Points and says "What's that?"
- Points to mommy and says "mama" and Points to Daddy and says "dada"

13 month update

Below are a few milestones emily achieved this month:
- took a few steps by herself. Still afraid of falling
- pulls herself up
- sits up from her back
- learned where her nose is - we're learning ear now
- learned the word "yellow"
- drinks from her sippy cup
- down to 1 nap a day

12 month update

Below are a few milestones emily achieved this month:
- got 2 more teeth (now has 7 teeth!)
- stands by herself
- walks around the table holding on
- walks with her walker
- says "ball"
- is able to associate the word "mommy" with me and "daddy" with Dale
- Says "papa" and "baba"
- started napping on the mat at school. Still in the infant room. One of these days, she'll move to the 1 year old room.
- learning animal sounds. Will imitate the sheep sound (baaa) and dog sound (woof woof)
- looks up when she sees the words on the screen
